The LCFOA hosted a meeting in room 2325 Rayburn on Capitol Hill on Tuesday, July 29 from 11:30 AM-1:00PM. The focus of the meeting was ILC technology applications. The agenda for the meeting, as well as the presentations, can be found here.

LCFOA Meeting at Fermilab; Oct 22/23, 2007:  The LCFOA held its fall membership meeting at Fermilab in parallel with the ALCPG07 meetings. Fourteen companies, many sending two representatives, attended from the LCFOA. The LCFOA members attended the plenary ALCPG meetings along with over 300 registrants from around the world on Monday, Oct 22. We also attended the afternoon regional reports by the ILC regional directors in the early afternoon. Later in the day the LCFOA held our members meeting in a breakout room where we had a roundtable discussion sessions with Barry Barish, ILC GDE Director; Mike Harrison, ILC Americas Regional Team Director and Jerry Blazey, DOE ILC Program Manager. The LCFOA continued our breakout sessions on Tuesday with talks by Fermilab’s  Shekhar Mishra, Vic Kuchler, Elizabeth Clements and Young-Kee Kim and SLAC’s Ray Larsen.  For details on the LCFOA sessions, please click agenda. You can click on selected talks on the agenda to view copies of these presentations. The meeting concluded with a private tour later in the day of Fermilab’s ILC test and cryomodule assembly areas.

ILC Technology Applications Workshop, May 15, 2007

The LCFOA made a major contribution to a Funding Agency For Large Colliders (FALC) study on the potential future applications of ILC technologies within other areas of the U.S. economy. The forum prepared a report focused on the uses of high gradient SCRF, high availability electronics and low cost detector devices within the commercial and military applications in time frames of five years and beyond. The ILC Technology Applications report can be obtained by clicking here. Much of the information was obtained during a workshop held on May 15, 2007 in the Washington, DC area. The FALC released a final report on ILC Technology Applications in Jan. 2008 which incorporated the LCFOA findings with inputs from the European and Asian regions can be obtained by clicking here.
