Diversified Technologies, Inc.
Diversified Technologies, Inc. (DTI) designs, manufactures, and markets the PowerMod™ line of solid-state, pulsed-power modulators and switching power supplies. The company employs its patented, proprietary technology to build power supplies and pulse modulators up to 500,000 volts and hundreds of megawatts of peak power from lower voltage solid-state components. PowerMod technology is the recipient of prestigious local and national awards, and is recognized as a true breakthrough in electronics design.
The company’s customers include the Departments of Energy and Defense, and leading domestic and international universities and private sector companies active in radar, high energy physics, food processing, wastewater treatment, semiconductor fabrication, and medical electronics. Systems are in use at facilities such as the Stanford Linear Accelerator Center, Argonne National Laboratory, and the Jet Propulsion Laboratory. Over the next several years, DTI will develop innovative, high power modulators and power supplies for the International Linear Collider under the auspices of grants from the Department of Energy.
DTI systems create the nearly-ideal “flat-top” pulses essential for achieving high performance in pulsed power applications. By overcoming the problems of inefficiency, limited lifetime, and lack of pulse flexibility inherent in conventional vacuum tube systems, they are replacing tube-based crowbars in accelerators, driving klystrons, gyrotrons, magnetrons, and TWTs in high power RF systems, and eliminating thyratrons and PFNs.
PowerMod high voltage systems are recommended for applications in magnet control, RF transmitters, VED heating, electron beams, and power conversion. For DC-DC power applications in the 250 kW – 5 MW range, DTI offers systems using active regulator topology. PowerMod buck regulator and boost regulator power supplies take the place of large, low frequency, step-up and step-down transformers, and feature very high power-conversion efficiency and reliability.
Diversified Technologies, Inc. is headquartered in Bedford, Massachusetts, in the heart of the Route 95/128 high-technology corridor. Company headquarters include 35,000 square feet of prime office, lab, and manufacturing space. The company sells its products worldwide, and is represented by local distributors in selected overseas markets.
